Since his debut in 1994 with the opera Eugene Onegin at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Juan Jesus Rodriguez has played with great critical and commercial success the major baritone roles of the italian repertoire -Rigoletto (Rigoletto), Conte di Luna (Il Trovatore), Germont (La Traviata), Rodrigo (Don Carlo), Falstaff/Ford (Falstaff), Riccardo (I Puritani), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Marcello (La Boheme), Conte (Le Nozze di Figaro), among others- in the main european opera houses.

In this regard, it must be noted his continued presence in Italy, where he is called year by year for its theaters and festivals, such as the Teatro dil Maggio Fiorentino, the Teatro di Parma, the Teatro Massimo di Palermo or the Teatro Regio di Torino. In 2014 he made his debut in Beijing with the role of Conte di Luna in Hugo de Anna´s production of Il Trovatore.

He has worked with leading conductors, such as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Wladimir Jurowski, Carlo Rizzi or Marco Armiliato. He has also worked with some of the most important scene Directors, including John Cox, Gilbert Deflo and Amelia Ochandiano. He studied body language with Arnold Tarraborelli and the dancer Ana Pérez.

Has been awarded in five occasions in international singing competitions, including the First Prize in International Competition Pedro La Virgen.
